Albuquerque

is a bit more reasonable.  You can spend days in Albuquerque's old town.  There are some campgrounds on the west end of town.  There are two together just west of the exit near the Petroglyphs.  They are on the S Service road.  The second one is about $35 per night with lots of extas like a pool and a rec center.   The first one is about $20 per night and is very new and doesn't have all of the extras which you may or may not be interested in.  ….Good travelling, Bobbie

the Santa Cruz Reservoir at Chimayo, NM  The road from Espanola to the
reservoir has a lot of art colony people and interesting stuff.  Interesting
country.

Welcome to the Little Vineyard RV Park web site. We hope to provide all
the information here that you will need to make a decision to come spend
some time with us.
We have over 150 RV sites here and they are all level pull thru with full
hook-ups. a few even have telephone service to them.
We have a swimming pool that is heated year round and a hot tub to relax
in after a long day on the road.

We also have cable TV for your viewing pleasure and both the internet and
cable TV are free.

We have a Rec hall where you can shoot your favorite game of pool, play
cards or board games or just sit and relax and enjoy the big screen TV.
Our rec hall includes a large meeting area and a kitchen for our special
potluck dinners and
Holiday get togethers.

FROM: RVPARKREWIEWS::::

We stayed in this campground because of previous reviews and the fact that they had cable and wireless internet. Both were excellent. The cable was clear with over 50 channels and the Wi-Fi was very responsive. The sites are level and will accommodate larger units and most are pull-throughs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is easily accessible from the interstate and is close to most shopping and restaurants. We ended up staying 4 days longer than we had expected due to the central location for many of the sites and activities in the area. Would recommend the park for overnight or extended stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.   ratings 7 8 9 8 8 10 7 6 9

We spent last night in
Deming, NM, at Super Wal-Mart underneath a sign saying "No Overnight Parking".  In fact every light post in the parking lot had the same sign.  When we asked about overnight parking the employees said no problem and told us where to go.  They have security patrolling the property all night who also said it was OK.  We were early so staked out a good place in one corner.  Soon more rigs started rolling in and before the day was over there must
have been 25 RVs present, ranging from a huge monster with dual axles to a guy sleeping in the back of his compact pickup.  Good place to overnight.  The folks in Deming were friendly and the security patrol added an element of safety and peace of mind.  Guess the morale of the story is don't take signs at face value.

Roswell, Area

(East of Roswell, or about 80 miles S.W. of Lubbock, TX)

Rick went by Tatum today and took pics of the five (5) full hookup spaces there.  They are very usable and on paved parking. The location is 5 blocks east of the Town n Country gas station at US380 and NM206. There is a and US380. Turn north and go 2 blocks to Ramsey Park on the left. The baseball field is at this corner. The street dead ends 1 block further
past your turn. The pull thrus are marked for pulling around and back thru facing the street. You will need 40 feet of sewer hose to reach the sewer conn. We saw only 30 amp service. The park is listed in the west edition of Don Wrights book Free Campgrounds. We were there
8/31/05.

Santa Fe area

Santa Fe Skies RV Park

We spent 4 nights there with 2 other rigs that were with us.  It is pricy for the type sites you get but much better than those on the highway through town, and they are not cheap either.  SFS is up on a hill overlooking the town.  Plenty of room to walk the dogs.  Fantastic bathrooms.  EAT:  Just down the hill on the highway is Tortilla Flats.  Awarded "Best of Santa Fe" 3 times.  Great food and reasonable prices.  It was also suggested that for seafood, we should try Maricso's La Playa which was on the same highway and 7 miles from the RV park.  We did not make it but we will next time we are in town.  If you are down at the Plaza, a great place to eat is 2 blocks off the square.  Tia Sophias, 210 West San Francisco Street.  A great $7 lunch.  1/2 or less than the places around the Plaza.  This is where the locals eat.  Get in by 11 A.M.   When we left there were over 30 people waiting for tables.

Taos

Wild Rivers is on top of the canyon and indeed very nice. Those who know about it usually fill the nicest sites. Orila Verde Nat. Rec.
Area south of Taos is at the bottom of the canyon and has many more sites for larger RV's. Prices-amenities about the same.  Sorry for leaving this off. it in northern NM off State 522. Just north of Taos, NM. It is about 8 miles off the hiway.

Following the pull of the road, we escape into the wide-open spaces. Any one wanting a nice quite secluded spot should try this out.
> There are 30 sites, 9 for RV up to 38 ft.  Forgot to add. This is dry camping only. It has pit toilet, water and garbage. No trees taller than 12 ft. We get plenty of solar, have dish tv and Internet satellite. clear sky in any direction. Wild rivers Rec Area off of state hiway 522 leaving Taos, NM. The road leads into CO, not far
from Sand Dunes NP.
